DNR set to make amends for Horry County wetland violation Extra wetland deal to make up for illegal act By Jake Spring - jspring@thesunnews.com
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources is brokering a deal to restore wetland along the Waccamaw River to make amends for destroying a nearby wetland in Horry County earlier this year, according to a DNR official.
But that's not an ideal solution as all restoration could be done on-site, said James Luken, a Coastal Carolina University biology professor who specializes in wetland.
