Cool Lynn, I like it. I have a friend that does our madrat T-shirts. If your serious about printing some up, I'll hook you two up to talk about it. He can do small runs. I believe he did 40 for our last party. they were $12.00 each and I only have 4 or five left to sell. Put me down for 5 if you end up marketing them. Maybe we could put "Proud Member of the NSS" or something like that, across the back.

Oh me, I didn't even think of something for the back side. Ok what do you think - would a flag in the background be better than uncle sam caver?

I think it is pretty cool. Dan's suggestion for the back is a good idea too. We'll see what comes of this. I bet it'll get even better.

Hey Lynn, very nice! I like the shirt idea and Dan's suggestion for the back too! I would be interested in seeing a sample with a flag in the background for comparison also.

It needs the word forum at the bottom................maybe. Looks like five or six colors maybe?
I can see it in the T-shirt salon at a convention real soon.

The Uncle Sam shirt is clearly the best. Be certain to include the website address on the back (or at the bottom of the image on the front). A clever motto would also be useful; i.e., "No system crashes since 2005" or "We Discuss - You Decide."

Thanks for all the ideas! ;D I wish I had placed a rope coil over his extended arm. May add that later just to see how it looks. Sure, the word Forum can go at the bottom or the url can go at the bottom which ever seems best. Humm...a clever motto?? Good Suggestion. Let's all give a motto some more thought and see what everyone comes up with.

These are some good ideas!
I haven't thought of a motto yet, but I'm sure someone will come up with something catchy.

I would suggest we not put *any* reference to the NSS on the shirts, as some people get really paranoid about that. (I think they are SpeleoPoliticians). Secondly, since I am not a mod, I don't know this, but since the forum is officially named: nssmembersforum.proboards28.com, is it possible to buy the name uscaversforum.com (it is available) and then point that name to the current and official name? One can do this through Namesecure.com -- I do this on most of my websites--www.missouriworld.net actually points to members.socket.net/~joschaper. The point is: those same folk would likely go waha if we actually made shirts with 'nssmembers' in the website address. Though we are in no way subversive, there is no point in antagonizing the keepers of the NSS brand. I'd be willing to chip in one year of the price of the webname if other people would also chip in. Through Namesecure, (includes pointer to the other address) this can be as little as $74/nine years. And no, I don't work for them.

I like having additional choices! ;D I agree, NO reference to the NSS is needed on U.S. Cavers T-Shirts and also there's no need to antagonize anyone. I believe the purpose of this board is to have a place for cavers to come visit, get latest caver news/happenings, information, chat, and freely enjoy it all. I guess the main point is this is a "U.S. Cavers Forum T-shirt" and needs to just feature the U.S. Cavers Forum name. Someone knowledgeable about the nssmembersforum.proboards28.com name and possibility of a name change may be able to answer the rest of your post better than I.

Ok, I bought www.uscaversforum.com for a one year term. I will try to configure things tomorrow. I have no intent to use this name for anything else than to refer to this board--call it putting one's money where one's mouth is, and presumably Sharon, Lynn and Dan will attest to my honorable intentions here. . Will let you know if the pointer is successful. I don't see any reason why it should not be, but you never know until you try. Jo

I like the inner caver for a back slogan. Don't see that Uncle Sam needs a rope...(Never give a poltician rope. No telling what they will do with it.) Something with the Uncle Sam on it will need to be a photo transfer type of shirt, at the quantities we are likely to want. I have a line on a place which will silkscreen as few as a dozen shirts. Colors are $20/each for silk screening. Am trying to find out a cost on short run photo transfers. If we actually do this deed, let me get a bid from my supplier. We also would need to know shirt sizes and if all cotton or 50/50. Cotton lasts longer, 50/50 is cheaper. This supplier does MVOR shirts and other caver stuff and knows we're crazy...

Wow, things are really coming together and moving along. If the redirect with the domain name works I'll pay for another year (or more).
I'm going to let others deal with the shirt design/photo transfer/screen printers. ;D

Put me down for a donation on the domain name also. Thank you Jo for taking this on.
I'll help fund the T-shirts also, when the time comes. I can check with the guy that does our Madrat T-shirts also. He did a short run for us with five colors and it cost around $12.00 ea.
