Sunday (October 7, 2007) on the way home from the TAG Fall Cave-In, Casey and I stopped by Sauta Cave for a trip into the upper entrance. This gave little pals Scout and Casey an opportunity to cave together, which they enjoy. Children like going caving with other children. One lone little bat perched high overhead in the main passage had a little peeping fit as we approached both on the way in and on the way out. That was one of only two bats we saw in the cave Sunday. We did a run thru the mined Catacombs before heading further back into the cave and toured the very dry Great Lakes area of the cave on the way out. I did not have my camera with me so no pics this time, but there are a couple of photos of the cave passage and the cave's huge gate in this Sauta Cave Trip Report from last year's visit to the cave.

We thought about going along but slept kinda late and decided against it since we were kinda lazy that day. I'm glad y'all had a good trip though. Maybe next year?

No problem Dr. B, the cave will still be there. I think those interested in cave history, such as yourself, would enjoy visiting the cave.
